Residential Care
Good Companions specialises in providing high quality care services delivered in a Residential Care Setting. This may be for a period of respite, recuperation following illness or on a longer term basis.
Our Goal
Our goal is to enable our Residents to enjoy the highest standards of care and quality of life achievable.
Our Objective
Our objective is to provide the appropriate care requirements for our Residents to enable them to enjoy life and to live happily and in comfort.
Each Resident has individual needs and varying degrees of support required. This may range from companionship to more complex personal care.
Some Residents require ongoing 24 hour support while others may require support for shorter periods of convalescence and recuperation following an illness.
Why do we believe we are different and are driving improvements in standards and in the quality of care?
An appropriately qualified Care Coordinator will visit you at home or in hospital and complete a full assessment (with your agreement).
Staff development and training is essential to providing a high quality service, all staff have access to a wide range of training opportunities and we will provide or advise on specific training to meet an individual Residents care requirements.
Good communication is absolutely essential, Care Managers will maintain regular personal channels of communication with Residents and their families to meet good quality standards and to monitor ongoing levels of care. We have received a three star rating from the Commission for Social Care Inspection, click here to see our latest Inspection Report. For further information regarding the Commission for Social Inspection please visit the CSCI website.
How we operate
As the Good Companions has been providing Care for 14 years, Residents are usually referred or introduced to us by recommendation.
All Residents are assured that they will be treated with respect and dignity according to their individual needs and wishes.
Anyone who enquires about becoming a resident will be contacted by our Care Coordinator and will receive an information pack about the home and the services we offer.
Once an assessment is completed an Individual Care Management Plan is tailored and agreed for the individual Resident and provides the basis on which the Good Companions care service is delivered.
Each Resident is allocated a Senior Carer who is responsible for monitoring and co-coordinating their care requirements.
A Key worker is also allocated to each resident; their responsibilities include assisting the resident with personal shopping and ensuring they have everything they need.
Regular reviews with Residents and their relatives are held to ensure that all care needs and requirements are being met.
Our service is ideal whether care is required in a medium, long term or for short periods.
Potential Residents have the opportunity to visit and spend time in the home prior to confirming their booking.
Our Carers
Great Care is taken in the selection of our carers.
All must have a professional although compassionate attitude and each must have a desire to work in an area where their understanding will enhance the quality of life for their Residents.
All carers have references carefully checked by us, we conduct a personal interview and a background check through the Criminal Records Bureau prior to employment.
